Kate Campbell, Director

Center Director at Oxford Street Daycare Cooperative has been in her role since 2015.  Before that, she was the program manager at Harvard Yard Child Care Center for 6 years and prior to that, worked in the field of Early Intervention for 15 years.  OSDC is a cooperative child care center and Kate believes the link to home and school is what makes OSDC such a strong and vibrant community. Her particular interests include Touchpoints and relationship-based practice.   As a result, OSDC is a Touchpoints Center which emphasizes relationship-based practice that supports the whole child and family. Kate has a Masters degree in Infant /Toddler Studies and a CAGS in Birth to Three Special Needs.   She lives in Quincy with her husband Matt and daughters, Sadie and Maisie. Kate enjoys spending time with her family and being a foster parent.

Christopher Simpson, Assistant Director

Christopher has been in the early childhood education field for over 25 years. Prior to his role as Assistant Director, he had spent the past 15 years at OSDC as the older toddler (Stomper Room) and preschool teacher.  Always invested in the center Christopher has chaired many committees including fundraising, enrichment and community outreach.  He was also a consistent staff representative on the center’s governing board.

Christopher got his first start and inspiration in the early education field as a Teacher’s Assistant at Project Headway on Martha’s Vineyard.  A program that provided children with and without disabilities the opportunity to develop, learn and grow together in an inclusive, diverse early learning environment. It was here where he knew his calling.  Later, he had a five-year stint as a lead teacher in the various classrooms at Harvard Yard Child Care Center before settling in at OSDC.

Christopher’s personal belief is on the developmental perspective of each individual child’s social and emotional growth and learning.  Therefore creating an environment where a child can build on her or his own understanding and skills when engaged in supportive learning and play experiences through peer interaction, family and skilled caregivers.

Christopher holds a BA in Sociology from Brandeis University.  He currently lives in Woburn with his wife Mary and his four darling and animated children.  His time away from the Center is spent with his family creating magical moments.  He aspires to earn a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
